Manufacturing

Two types of manufacturing, that is, the simple and advanced can be controlled using PANTHEON.

You issue work orders and approve them by issuing materials and receiving products using the simple manufacturing. Besides all this in the complex manufacturing you plan manufacturing activity, take into account deadlines, the availability of resources and  perform closed loop monitoring (MRP II).

Advanced Manufacturing

Advanced manufacturing contains the following:

  • Scheduling
  • Processing Work Orders
  • Monitoring finished work and integration with payroll
  • Material planning and scheduling
  • Bills of materials (BOMs) with  alternatives
  • Cost estimation, cost analysis and other analyses.

Scheduling

Scheduling in PANTHEON is the process of making a detailed and coordinated schedule of production deadlines, and managing resources. Scheduling is based  on operating production plans, taking into account bills of material, that is, mainly their technological procedures.

The scheduling process takes into account the defined sequence of operations in the technolgical procedure.

The basis of scheduling are technological procedures from basic BOMs, that contain manufacturing cycle times, set-up times, and resources with their capacities.

Work calendars with occupation of working hours by days; operating plans are in this phase placed in the schedule and coordinated with available capacities of resources.

In the material requirements forecast, work orders can be created and their sequence defined. The sequence can be visually displayed using the Gantt chart, where it can be further micro-managed.

Process Work Orders

The Process Work Orders window is the main window from which you can control the manufacturing, where you can find data used in manufacturing work orders. The status of work orders which you can observe them from opening to closing stage proves for transparency's sake and more reliable control of process of implementing work orders extremely important. The status of the work orders usually shifts gradually by stages from Planned, Open, Reserved, Released, In Progress, Partially Closed and Closed. Due to this colours are used for each status.

In the window for processing work orders you can also find data on product quantity, material requirements and work needed as well as the marked manufacturing status of the work order. There are also data on schedules, manufacturing and cycle times. The window also provides you with various tools that can be used in filtering work orders, batch manufacturing, for merging work orders (WO) as well as various possibilities  for setting of priorities or order in which manufacturing is performed.

Some advantages:

  • Entry of finished work by employees
  • Quantity- and cost-based analyses of finished work
  • Data entry on finished products and their receiving on warehouse
  • Combined receiving which enables re-issuing of material and reporting on finished work by norms in the work order
  • Quick multiple entry of material transactions in issuing materials from warehouses to various work orders
  • Multiple entry of data on finished work (also by employees)
  • Transferring products from different work orders to product warehouses

Monitoring Work and Payroll Integration

Under Process Work Orders, a few features of monitoring work progress are shown. The acquired data can be later analyzed or transferred into the payroll calculation.

Complex reports on work progress with various criteria can be produced by selecting Finished Work Analysis. Data for reports can be gathered according to user-defined criteria which further enables.

Some available analyses:

  • Summary by employees
  • Summary by operations
  • Summary by resources
  • Summary by departments, etc.

Material Resource Planning

Planning using PANTHEON MF edition is the process of optimizing activities to efficiently realize orders, plans, sales and services.

Its basic objectives lie in meeting production deadlines and optimum use of manufacturing resources.

PANTHEON allows different approaches to planning for different types of production - from single unit (made-to-order) to mass production. It is suitable for simple and extremely complex production processes.

Planning cycles in are usually hierarchical allowing both partial as well as complete planning. They are focussed in particular at mid-term operative planning and fine-tuned short-term production scheduling.

Operational planning mostly depends on detailed specific sales orders manually or by transferring lines from sales orders, manufacturing, other plans as well as from scheduled material plan.

Material resource planning enables you to recalculate gross or net material requirements for the period of a definite plan by taking into account stock, planned consumption and manufacturing, where you can depending on the settings consider deadlines as well.

Planning capacity enables you to recalculate the required amount of capacities according to definite plan in comparison with the available working resources. You can find multiple panels in the main window designed for various overviews of required capacities and the available working resources. The program also enables you to create different reports on burdening the capacities of working resources needed for planned realization.

BOMs with Alternatives

In general the term bill of materials represents the entire assembly of structural, technological and operative manufacturing data. With them you show the product structure and procedures involved in the manufacturing. In other words it represents both the bill of materials and the technological procedure used in manufacturing.

Creating basic bills of materials (BOMs) is a crucial activity in determining data used in planning and carrying out the manufacturing procedure. Basic BOM is thus also the starting point for creating planning and manufacturing BOMs, which get created in a similar way. At the lowest level of BOM modules lie the purchased materials (parts, componenst) and at the highest level you can find end products. In the mid-level lie semi-products. Here it has to be considered that the BOM structure can be adjusted to the ongoing changes in the business process.

Alternatives in BOMs are in this way intended for planning and scheduling  manufacturing since you by using alternatives foresee the date of production and optimum manufacturing coverage.

Cost Estimation, Cost Analysis and Other Analyses

Using cost estimation helps you to estimate the cost of products, which are defined by basic BOMs, containing the planned use of materials and labour.

Cost estimates show the cost structure on all BOM levels.

Partial estimates can be produced by including only certain materials or operations in the estimation.

The cost of materials and labor can be defined according to different criteria directly during the cost estimation, or taken from the definition of business avents for manufacturin. Furthermore, price simulations can be made.

A detailed cost estimation of products shows the structure of manufacturing costs on all BOM levels.

ZIndirect manufacturing costs and overhead can be included in cost estimation with appropriate definition of formulas and resource costs.

Prices of intermediate products, materials and operations can be defined as pricing factors, which allows running simulations. The entered price is taken into account for the cost estimate, which allows running different scenarios with varying prices or components.

The detailed cost estimation shows much details about individual products, while the collective cost estimation can be used on a group of products, according to user-defined criteria. The prices from the collective cost estimation can be transferred to plan prices or fixed prices.

Simultaneously with monitoring work progress, actual manufacturing costs for work orders are analyzed using  cost analysis in PANTHEON MF edition. Those costs, based on materials used and labour invested, are contained in products as they are put-away to the warehouse from work orders. The amount and type of costs depends on the settings of document types for work orders. Multiple types of cost analyses are available, detailed and summary.

Furthermore, analyses of work orders and their related documents can be performed. There can be found examples of work order status, work-in-progress, issuing and receiving slips, related documents, etc. All analyses can be performed according to various criteria.
